VCU Police has brought the LiveSafe mobile app to the VCU community for this academic year. The free, voluntary app is extremely user friendly and available on all Android and iOS devices. It is a powerful safety tool that allows for more efficient exchange of information between members of the community and their police department.

Users can send the VCU Police information about crimes or ongoing incidents, just like the text-a-tip program the university has used in recent years. Users can even send along photo or video evidence of what is occurring. The VCU Police can also transmit information to users about ongoing incidents or important safety tips.

To begin using LiveSafe:

1)      Find and install “LiveSafe” from your iOS or Android app store

2)      Select VCU as your local agency

3)      Enter your profile information and emergency contacts

4)      Use it!
