Community Police Programs & Events

VCU Police has Crime Prevention / Community Policing officers who perform security inspections, provide training, host outreach events and collaborate with departments across the university. For more information, email crimeprevreq@vcu.edu or call (804) 828-1209. 

Training Requests

VCU and VCU Health students, faculty, staff and team members can request the following training sessions.

  • Active Shooter Response Training
  • General Safety Training
  • Verbal Deescalation Training

Event Requests

VCU Police officers are available to attend events for the purposes of education and engagement with students, faculty, staff and community members on the MCV and Monroe Park Campuses. Officers may be able to attend select, off-campus events, depending on availability.  

Please email crimeprevreq@vcu.edu to request that an officer attend your outreach event. 

VCU Police provides coverage for special events on VCU’s campuses. There are two types of coverage: police officer and security officer.
